The Sharing Walk

Hold my hand, little one.
Grow confident, and stride,
Out here in the great wide world,
With love to stand beside.

Grip tight the gentle hand, my child,
Absorb the rushing pride,
Be nurtured in the glow of hope,
With love to walk beside.

Lift up your face in sunniness,
Bright beams the twinkling smile,
Hold to the hand that trembles, slight,
And walks a shortened mile.

I’m touched that you give so freely,
The trust that your grasp has implied,
I hope you’ll grow strong and gentle,
With love that will walk beside.
