A real pity to see it go that way.
A long time ago I war-gamed a way to use the Sea-Shadow as a forward deployed Arsenal Ship. No radiating equipment just receivers and it used other vessels, Air Craft and Satellites for targeting. Of course it was all hypothetical, but still it was fun war-gaming it.
And for those who want to know it was a private naval based wargame using a combination of miniatures and computers for calculation of various factors.

Well, the USN current has four "arsenal ships" in service. They're generally referred to as the "Ohio-class SSGN conversions".
Kinda sad to think that this unique ship couldn't have found a home somewhere. Probably not as a standalone museum, but rather as a tack on to either the Hornet Museum in Alameda or the planned Iowa museum down in Los Angeles. It would serve as a nice complementary draw to both of those.
I think that what killed it was the USN's typical bloated requirements that any sponsoring organization have a boatload of $$$$ in the bank prior to turning the ship over for display. The SeaShadow is essentially display-ready as-is, and comes inside an enclosed display space (the HMB). Just tow the thing up to the other side of the pier, jack it into the power supply and put in some accessibility enhancements as funding becomes available.
