Perhaps if you weren’t such an ass, you’d have known I was not talking about you - I was referring to the subject of the thread. Sorry your hatred got in the way of your reading comprehension. Please note that other posters knew EXACTLY who I was referring to.

Deep down, Obama hates America. I agree. Obama hates America whereas Mitt couldn't care less about America. It's not the same thing, but the results are.

Read post 38 and, if possible, learn.

I saw it and he did say it. He was talking about the optimism in Romey’s speech last night ala Ronald Reagen verses the constant pessimism coming from the president
To: EternalVigilance
I was actually agreeing with your point, and demonstrating how a certain host would not see the vast differences between Reagan and Romney. But don’t worry, I’ll never build on your point again. Which won’t be hard, so few being worthy to begin with.
To: C. Edmund Wright
Okay. I’ll apologize for jumping to conclusions if you’ll admit that you could have been clearer, especially in this political environment.

The question could be interpreted in such a way as to absurd by noting the Romney is no Reagan, being at best an American analogue of a British “Wet” Tory, though surely worse on social issues, and possibly better on some aspects of economic issues.
Of course, it might also be interpreted in a way which is not absurd by noting that Obama is no Carter, but rather an actively anti-American, post-colonialist, multiculturalist Red-diaper baby (albeit with elements of Carter-style incompetence), and so far left that although Romney too far left for the comfort of FReepers, he is enough to the right of Obama that the analogy works.

I think there are alot of similarities. You have a dem running for re-election in a stagnate/bad economy who has made it clear he’s going to go super negative to win re-election. A really good book about the 1980 election is Craig Shirley’s book Rendevous With Destiny.

The interesting thing about Romney is that Mormons think he is the fulfillment of a Mormon prophesy about a Mormon becoming President and saving the Constitution. If Romney thinks he is that man he is suppose to concentrate on saving the Constitution, which seems quite different than the direction he has been heading.

Fair enough. Not my most coherent post. My bad for that.

Not my best moment either. I apologize for my stupid kneejerk post.

I happened to be watching that segment of Hannity last night, before the Braves-Dodgers game came on. The context of the question Hannity asked was the come-from-behind aspect of Reagan's victory in 1980. Reagan was down substantially in the polls at this point in the campaign in 1980, as is Romney now in some polls. So, Hannity was really asking, “will circumstances between now and November 6th this year be similar to those in 1980 which caused the dramatic shift in the electorate that led to Reagan's win.” Hannity was not comparing Romney to Reagan and Obama to Carter in terms of their policies, personalities, etc.

More like Carter vs. Carter. Or Carter on Steroids vs. Carter on Meth.
