I was at Petco one day looking at the white mice (I don't like mice much either). A woman was standing beside me and we agreed how cute they were. Then I said “can you believe some people buy these cute little things and feed them to their snakes?” When I said that the woman quickly walked away. Later I saw her checking out and she had a couple of white mice..... for snake food I feel sure.

I like mice and rats.
I have 8 white mice and 4 fancy rats.
The mice nearly drive me crazy running on their squeaky wheel 24/7.
[the rats are too smart to keep going nowhere and won’t run in a wheel]

Gee.

I guess I just like all animals.

My guys eat frozen/thawed mice that come from labs.

They were doomed anyway.

If PetCo finds out she bought mice as feeders they’ll ban her.

I had to fill out a long form to buy my rats.

When two of my previous passed away, leaving only Betty by herself, the small animal manager wanted to know *why* I was buying the rats because she knows I also have snakes and they keep track of who buys what and how often.

Luckily, the store manger knows me and vouched for me and I was able to get Betty 3 new friends to ease her loneliness.

Two weeks ago I brought home an underfed, dehydrated python with ‘crunchy skin’ from an unhealthy shed and who was nearly blind from stuck eye caps.

She’s gained 60 grams of weight, shed her bad skin off perfectly, is glossy and smooth and can see again.

She’s a very grateful snake who loves to lay her head against my cheek and just be held.

I named her Peggy because she has a marking on her back that looks like a capital P.

God made snakes same as he made puppies and kittens.

Somebody needs to love the “unlovable” creatures, too.
