Conservative commentator Ann Coulter told radio host Hugh Hewitt on Thursday that Democratic attempts to highlight presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romneys wealth are not only unfair, but likely to backfire.
Earlier this week, President Barack Obama said that he and his wife Michelle were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths, a comment which was widely considered to be a jab at Romney, the son of a successful CEO.
Although Obamas spokesman Jay Carney denied that was the case, the Democratic Party has been attacking the former Massachusetts governor in an effort to paint him as out-of-touch with average Americans.
But on Hewitts radio show, Coulter, the author of Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America, argued that Obama was the one actually on the receiving end of a so-called silver spoon.

Mom was daughter of well off Hawaiian Bank exec. and richer husband. She was making over 80,000 a year doing “research” - this is the story to be told not affirmative action. Obambi keeps trying to talk about “single mom” when he had a well connected family who helped him live very well - he did not have to eat dog, but he did.
It appears that Bill Ayres paid for Obama’s college according to Bill’s postman and his sworn testimony. He don’t need no stinking silver spoon when you have terrorists to pay for stuff.
Coulter has evolved into a broken clock, still right twice a day.
Otherwise a golden shower for Ms. Coulter.
Coulter-Noonan-Dowd = Larry-Curly-Moe
Obama wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth-—it was a blue heeler.
I’ve been saying over and over again that obammy is little more than a quota boy.
You can add it up...in 2010-dollars.
Occidental College, CA...two years of tuition, room, and board. $125k minimum.
Columbia College, NY....two years of tuition, room and board. $125k minimum.
Harvard Law School...two years of graduate school, room and board. $125k minimum.
All are private school (that is obvious, if you look at the big picture). So $375k spent in 2010-dollars. What kid in Boaz, Alabama could afford that? What kid in Ripley, Mississippi could afford that? There’s a silver spoon here, but it’s an unexplainable silver spoon.
I thought it was a golden retriever...
