In the Bible the word “goy” means a people. The Hebrew people were called a “goy kadosh” or a holy people. Later the word came to signify an individual gentile, like the “Shabbos goy” who would light fires on the Sabbath for their Jewish neighbors who were prohibited from doing so by their faith. Never oxen.
