In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Eldritch
Adjective
[Perhaps Middle English *elriche : Old English el-, strange, other; see al-1 in Indo-European roots + Old English rce, realm; see reg- in Indo-European roots.]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

that’s great!!
No, but for Mardi Gras they could serve a Cavalier King cake.
I saw you last night when the #ObamaDogRecipes was trending. I couldn’t stop laughing long enough to reply to you. At one point 100 tweets popped up in seconds.
Q What does Obama call a dog on the roof of a car?
A Fast food.
OTOH, the eld’ritch is the urge that some middle- to late-agers get to start chasing 20-ish bimbos....
another good one!
Touche.
What do you call a dog wagging it’s tail at the White House?
A Happy Meal!
I haven’t seen it yet since it’s been nonstop hockey on TV here and I am still waiting for season 2 of Downton Abbey from my library. A long list of holds were in front of me. Great characters and I do love Maggie Smith.
As soon as season 2 of Downton Abbey is on Netflix for streaming, I’m all over it.
I didn’t see the recipes, but I didn’t look at the article-but maybe a close eye should be kept on the first dog, Bo...
As the economy grows darker,
So do Obama’s eldritch speeches-
Now they seem to be directed
To only idiots and leeches
They don’t have a single clue
To what “speculation” might be-
They may even think its something
That they should get for free
Too bad that Florida in 2000
Didn’t make such fools take note-
Instead, we’re still a country with
Some people too clueless to vote
Yes, last night was a fun one on the twitters.
why don’t you just buy the DVD?
A+++
I love the Dogflap. Liberals should just roll over and laugh about it, they can’t win this one.
I don’t know. DVDs are so last decade. If I can watch it on Netflix in my home or anywhere my PC is (in the US, anyway) why collect shiny discs?
Certain DVDs I like to watch frequently, I have copied onto a hard drive and they travel with me that way.
I just checked Netflix. Season 2 not available yet. Noticed the adjectives used to describe the show: “Cerebral, understated.”
