Oh, that`s just a TBF torque trim tab.
I’ll bet the torque from the Wright R-2600-20 Cyclone 14 twin-row radial engine (which produced 1,900 hp) WAS a bear!
The T-28 with the R-1820 single row 9 cylinder 1425hp was a beast on no-flap touch & goes. I had a buddy torque roll one 720 degree while practicing approach turn stalls at 5,000’ AGL.
Now THAT woke up his flight instructor in the back seat!
