I don’t know if the screams are from Trayvon or George.

Let’s stipulate for this discussion that they are from the 17 year old.

What causes this change in the situation at that instant? I think something like this was transpiring in those moments:

1. He (Trayvon) has just realized that the stranger he decked (probably with a sucker punch) and has been hammering on has a gun and is trying to get it out to use on him. He screams in mortal fear of his life.

2. They grapple over the gun and he begins to lose the struggle to gain possession of it. Trayvon again screams in mortal fear of his life.

3. Trayvon loses the struggle to control the gun and realizes he will be shot. Again, he screams in mortal fear of his life.

BANG! The “No Limit N*****” (Trayvon’s Facebook User Name) has just been limited out.

All screams accounted for and it is still self defense.

Trayvon got himself killed when he didn’t go straight back to the apartment (especially if he thought he was being followed). Instead, he decided to confront the stranger. If he had gone home, he would be alive today and George Zimmerman would have a future.

I’m sure George Zimmerman wishes with all his heart that he had been able to direct the gun in that brief moment between the last scream and the shot to hit Trayvon Martin in some non-fatal place. Considering the pain and strong emotions he was probably experiencing at the moment he did shoot, I think George showed considerable restraint in only shooting once. I’d have probably emptied most or all of the clip.

The Defense is going to rip the Prosecution case for Murder 2 to shreds. I just hope George has the mental stamina (and assistance of counsel he trusts) to resist a plea bargain offer on a lesser included offense and insist on either an outright acquittal or the dropping of all charges.

Unfortunately, even if he does go free, George doesn’t have much in the way of future prospects. Regardless of what the real facts are, wherever he goes, he is going to be known as the “guy who killed that innocent little black Skittles kid” until the day he dies. The liberal press and the race mongers (including those in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department)will make sure of that.

“Trayvon got himself killed when he didn’t go straight back to the apartment. Instead, he decided to confront the stranger.” He also could have been caught and Z could have decided to try and search him and use his gun to hold him till the cops arrived. We have too little to go on. http://bcclist.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/trayvon-martin-george-zimmerman-path.jpg

Don't know it for a fact, but in Zimerman's statement to police at the station, he said he yelled for help. And, the responding policeman said in his written statement he overheard Zimmerman (while the medics tended to him) say he yelled for help.

Very bad idea. If you ever find yourself in mortal danger you need to use as much force as you can bring to bear so as to end the confrontation as soon as possible and in your favor. Shooting "to wound" is definitely a bad idea, suppose your assailant is high on PCP, or suppose you wing him which really pisses him off, suppose you waste your last round and miss, what then? Your always better off to put your assailant down as fast as possible, two shots center of mass. If nothing else it makes you the author of the ensuing narrative.

Don't take my word for it, check the literature on the subject and you will find 100% endorsement for the "shoot to kill" strategy. Doing less will inevitably shorten your life span.

Same advice goes for firing "warning shot(s)". Don't do it, it wastes ammo and could very cause unintended collateral damage to innocents not involved in your confrontation (all bullets must come down somewhere!).

Regards,
GtG
