The Eugenics Movement went hand-in-hand with the Progressive Movement at the turn of the 20th century. There were many famous Americans, as well as international personages, who supported eugenics.

Hitler and his Nazis were the most egregious example of eugenics gotten out of control combined with the power of the state. In 1945, when the Nazi's death camps were liberated, the world was revolted at what it saw. So, the eugenics believers re-branded themselves. In the U.S., Margret Sanger dropped eugenics from her resume and replaced it with Planned Parenthood. PP now operates under a veneer of “respectability” because very, very few people know of its murderous and racist roots. Even when told, liberals go straight into denial and “shoot the messenger” mode.
