Not to sound too McCarthyite here but he could be a PRC “Agent-of-Influence”. Think about it who benefits from a US economy shackled with AGW regulations. China and other 2nd and 3rd world countries not only have said no but hell no regarding AGW regulations. Even countries that have signed the Kyoto accords either wiggle our through “exceptions” or plain ignore the regulations. This stuff cripples us and empowers them. As long as Chu passes no classified information he is breaking no law.
Of course it simply could be he is a plain old left wing fruit cake; the Paul Krugman of Physics. Top drawer in a narrow specialty but otherwise an let wing ideologue in everything else.
