To say nothing of the fact that Honeywell (now Allied-Signal in drag) took the Sperry Gyroscope Company, arguably the #1 aircraft-instrument company in the world at the time, and drove it into the ground by outsourcing all engineering work to India, where nothing ever actually got done.

Now Boeing, which at one time was half their market, won’t even accept bids from them on new projects.

Sperry helped win the war with their equipment. They were innovators. Back in the synchro-selsyn and tube days.

Lots of good brain sweat went into that gear. THe last SAM 707 conversion I worked on still had synchro-selsyn equipment in it. You had to know 'lektrikity to understand that stuff.

I had to drop LinkSys from my approved buyers list because of spec-sheet falsification. Switch that was supposed to draw 6 watts actually drew 28. And got hot. With their approved power supply. Since it was a remote, solar powered site, it killed my power budget. And the site died 2 days into a 10 day test.

LinkSys + Cisco = crap.
