I think we need to allow more deer permits

I don't think the permits are an issue since I know several guys who couldn't fill the ones they had.

Most of the deer/vehicle accidents that are occuring here in Michigan are in the most densely populated areas where the deer live in the pockets of wooded areas that cant be hunted safely.

My sub is a typical example, on the southeast side of it is a wooded area that is only about a tenth of a mile on each side and on the east side is another condo complex, on the west side is a hospital and the south side is M-59 which is an eight lane highway.

A year ago there was a small herd of approx. 8 deer as witnessed by my neighbors who saw them standing in the field between the woods and the hospital. Since then, I've seen one carcass on M-59 and another one in March on the two lane highway on the extreme east side.

And as a side note, in February, a friend of mine who lives about a mile and a half east of me in another sub, his wife hit an 8 point buck while driving past a golf course a mile south of his house......

Another friend of mine lives in Sterling Heights and he has a big buck coming into his backyard from a wooded area behind him almost daily.......

It's crazy, these damn things are growing in numbers in areas that defy the imagination.......

True, I know of a few places around the outskirts of Jackson where you are guaranteed to see large herds of deer.
