Leave it to CBS.

Given the choice of stock photo to run with the story, which do you suppose CBS went with:

A) vicious dog
or
B) eeeevil handgun?

More range time needed. Dog needed to be dead after the 1st shot.

Surprised they didn’t just make the title “man shoots neighbors dog, police investigate”

“The dog, owned by a neighbor, broke free from its leash and then bit the boy. The boy’s father got his handgun and fired one shot when the dog lunged toward him...”

What is wrong with this story? It implies that after the son was bitten, the father went somewhere and retrieved his gun, then approached the dog and shot it when it lunged at him.

This being California, where most carry is unlawful, this would seem to be the likeliest thing.

Another improperly trained pit bull.

A trained pit bull would have eaten both the son and the father before they could react.
