It’s at 3627. Hi and pleased to meet you!
I’m a firm believer in private action to help people in need, whether it’s taking food to a family caring for an invalid or buying a FRiend a new crockpot.
The Chickpea Dish started out as a Weight Watchers recipe, so it has a lot of vegetables in it. Today’s version had a couple of colored bell peppers in it (from Walmart) as well as some Anaheim chilis from the garden. And fresh basil.
Sometimes the government’s control is openly oppressive, and sometimes it’s intended to do good, as with price controls or penalties for “profiteering.” However, regardless of motive, people are much more likely to starve when the price system is not allowed to operate freely.
I hope, before I die, to see a President who has read Thomas Sowell.
Thanks for the recipe Face!
Thanks for the ping Silentgypsy!
Thanks in advance for trying this out with the Chiltepines TheMom!
Thanks and pleased to meet you there too!
Fandy-tactical. Had em out at the lake today. Much fun...
Love doing calf raises. Oly bar on a squat rack. To get better stretch, a 2x4 or a couple of stacked 45s works good. Tried a step aerobics step, but none of them I’ve seen will withstand the combined weight.
Good for you! DP is doing extreme outdoorsiness at the coast with Tom and Elen this week.
Speaking of calf stretches, I had a book by someone named Anderson who espoused calf stretches thusly:
Put your palms at shoulder height flat against a wall or solid object. Extend one leg backward and push that heel until it’s flat against the ground while dropping your hips without allowing the opposite knee to extend forward beyond the toes of the leg that isn’t having the gastrocs stretched. I don’t know if that makes sense—I’ll try to find the book and copy. The idea is to keep the lower leg of the side not being stretched perpendicular to the floor. (A thousand apologies if this is not coherent; I’ve tried not to post after 1700 hrs but weight lifting and physical conditioning is too important to put off lol!)
I hope you and yours had a marvelous Fourth!
Sincerely,
Sg
Wow... It's been 8 years. It doesn't seem that long ago. So much has happened in that period of time.
And now I should move to the new thread, too.
My pink things were in Oregon with me and my wife last week. Little Pink is 3 going on Cutie does Oscar The Grouch. Littlest Pink is pushing up onto all fours; bucking to skip creeping, and go straight from inert mass to crawling.
More later, as I have a moment...
