A scrounger who almost died after cutting his own foot off so he could stay on jobless benefits has been told he might still qualify for work despite his amputation. Long term unemployed Hans Url, 56, had just been told his hand-outs would stop if he did not accept work found for him by job centre staff.
And when his claims that he was too sick and did not like the work were challenged with the offer of a medical, he took drastic measures.
Url, of Mitterlabill, southern Austria, rigged up a mitre saw and sliced off his foot then put it in the oven for good measure to ensure no surgeon could reattach it. But job centre staff have delivered a blow to hapless Url's plan by saying his new disability does not rule him out for work.

Unemployed man cuts off foot to continue claiming jobless benefits only to discover he is still eligible for work
He should have removed his brain instead because apparently he does not use it anyway.
He at least has his own miter saw and knows how to use it. and you can do that on one foot.
I’d give him a job where he has to stand all day.
Well he qualifies to be a politician, he can sit on his butt all day and spend other peoples money (he has experience) and he doesnt need common sense or any brains either...
Maybe he can mark where manhole covers should go. Tie a piece of chalk to his good foot...
Of course he can still work.
All he needs is a Parrot.
It scares me that we have people who would waste their lives on a crumby couch all day watching TV in poverty or even disable themselves into poverty rather than put an ounce of work into their lives.
The first real job I had, helping a contractor build a house during my summer between Junior and Senior years, I asked the contractor why so many of the men complained about doing their jobs and how hard they were(I and a friend, did all the grunt work, being laborers, so we could understand how hard could the other work be)worked.
The boss told me it was normal for humans to seek the easiest path, particularly those without a good work ethic.
He said if you were to pay a man to come to work and sit under a shade tree all day and do nothing else, it wouldn't be long before he started asking why he couldn't sit under the tree he had at home and be paid for it.
This is the attitude of the guy in this article and it is the attitude of most people on the dole. The easier they have it the easier they want it.
