Indeed, I use carb cleaner as well. It depends on what I’m cleaning.

Also concur on WD-40, which I buy by the gallon.

A lot of folks will trash you for using WD-40, but for corrosion prevention it is the best game in town. Brownells did a controlled experiment and discovered that WD-40 outperformed virtually all other corrosion preventers, even very expensive ones.

Don't use it for lube, though. It does not retain viscosity over time. I use it exclusively to swab chambers and bores and for exterior wipedown. Use a good lube (like clp or Kroil or tetra or Remoil) in the action.
