Hoppes #9. It also works as aftershave before a date.

Hot soapy water for powder fouling and a strong (15%) ammonia solution for removing gilding metal. When finished, place in the oven at 250 degrees for a half-hour or so (wood and plastic shouldn't go in the oven). Re-lubricate with a good lube (I use CLP or Rem Oil, depending which is closer at hand, or Lubriplate grease for autos).

It's not sexy or cool, but it works for me.

Brake cleaner works great for cleaning, but keep it off of wood and plastic, and don’t use it in the house.

The down side is that you don’t get the same manly smell as Hoppes gives you.

HOPS for most uses and Winchester Break Free CLP for neglected bores. But while both are great stuff for general use, lets say you have a old Nagant, well try PB Blaster soaked in over night, just make sure you clean after it with HOPS or CLP.

Gunzilla sounds like Ballistol, which I use (I shoot black powder and modern stuff). Ballistol has been around a bit longer, though.

Another vote for Ballistol here, supplemented with Kroil as needed. I also like Hoppes and CLP, but both of them give me an almost instant headache.

I keep going back to Hoppe’s. I use some other things... MPro-7, Break-Free... but I still get the best results with Hoppe’s. For treatment before putting away... always WD-40.
