Exactly like that. I love it. I think it actually pulls in stations better than a Sony-ICF2010 that I had and sold. The analog slide-rule dial allows me to just barely touch the tuning dial to get the reception exact. It seems the digital tuners jump over the sweet spots, but that could just be me.
I bet that 36 Atwater Kent is a beaut.

You're right about the digital tuners. As you know, they are pre-set at the factory, and they may not be perfectly tuned, but with a tuning dial, you have precision control.
Here is a picture of the Atwater Kent. It's not the best photo with the flash, but you can see it fairly well.
