A lot of people don’t seem to recall, but I remember specifically. There was a FR poll on the front page, and Duncan Hunter had a bit over 90% up until the day he dropped out. I remember at that time Hunter was polling nationally at around 1% which is way below Ron Paul. Just gives you a bit of perspective.
Then FR pivoted from "PALIN COUNTRY" to "NEWT COUNTRY" almost on a dime, and all the 'bots here pivoted in perfect harmony. Now it's like Newt has been their idol since the Bronze Age. Pathetic.Absolutely right. I could name names, but I won't.
But you know what, as much as I like Newt (and I do) I really believe that Perry was the man for Our Side. I really believe him when he said he would shut down three of those stinking socialist bureaus (yeah, I know, he forgot the name of one during the debate, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk), and that he really would work non-stop to get Washington "out of our lives".
But we are conservatives. We are purists. We are stupid. We now have Romney.
And you know what, Palin let us down in all this. Let us down BIG TIME. First by dropping out and then by not doing what she did in 2010 so well, getting us to coalesce around conservatives.

Very much like 2008 all over again—before Palin was at least named to the ticket.
For me, the effect has been the same as going ahead and voting for the other guy; something I never would consider doing.
I held my nose and voted for GHWB Part 2. Should I have voted for BJC? Or should more people have held their nose?

I voted for Palin and the old guy that happened to be on the same ticket. Had she not been there, I would have held my nose and voted for the old guy anyway. Should I have voted for Zero? Or should more people have held their nose?
History will be the penultimate judge, but I believe the answer is the same as that given a man trying to rescue his brother from drowning in sewage: hold your nose and do your best with what you have.
Yes I know what penultimate means and I used it on purpose.
I’m not sure exactly who I will vote for, but one thing is certain, I will never vote for a pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-socialized medicine, Socialist.
Even with all the money Mitt has, a very good conservative candidate could have beaten Romney in the primaries. Unfortunately, in this election cycle there were no really good and charismatic conservative candidates. There were/are candidates with excellent conservative ideas, but they are not skilled political candidates that enough GOP primary voters believed could win a general election. A cautious GOP establishment candidate that will always straddle the political center will come out on top every time if conservatives don’t offer up excellent credible alternative.
I’m still hoping Newt hangs in there to the end, but the writing is pretty clearly on the wall now. There is little chance at this point Romney will be derailed from winning the nomination.
Thanks for giving us O and four years of hell. If you do the same thing this time the country is finished. The number one goal of every freedom loving American MUST be to defeat O.....

Well, go ahead. Hold your breath and stamp your foot... and end up with everyone’s worst nightmare being re-elected.
I don’t like Romney, and I’ve grown to like him less and less as time goes by. I feel sick that I voted for someone I disliked even MORE last time around (McCain), and, to tell you the truth, I didn’t have any great love for GWB either.
But the prospect of ending up with Obama, unfettered, for ANOTHER four years of sheer hell is something we should ALL fight against. I, too, was as the point where I didn’t feel I could vote for Romney, no matter what. I’ve changed my mind. You have to put your emotions aside and do what’s best for the country - and wasting your vote on a write-in or not voting at all is tantamount to a vote for Obama.

I’ve done all I could to affect the nomination: I voted for Santorum in the Primary.
He came in second.
I can do no more but hope and pray for the outcome of the convention, and then vote to defeat Obama in November.
I believe most Americans don’t want BHO - problem is they aren’t informed and swallow the propaganda and media hype that say Romney is the only one who can beat BHO. A tragedy, since Mittens is perhaps the weakest, will put up no fight (like McLame in ‘08) and is SO much like BHO - Obama-Lite.
Afraid most people are ignorant of reality and don’t look below the surface.

I am not voting for Romney even if he is wins the primary.
I am a conservative, not a republican, I am not going to vote for a false choice.
Either I will vote for a third party or won’t vote at all.
If this means we get 4 more years of Obama, the Republicans made it happen....don’t blame the people.
In my eyes, we have a case of two Obama’s running for President.
