Ted Bundy was a sociopath who savagely beat, raped, and mutilated women. He loved publicity, as he made clear in his trial.

Dr. Dobson had no proof of what Bundy said beyond Bundy’s own word. The word of a man whose last violent act was to slaughter a 12 year old and leave her body in a pig shed.

There are mothers and fathers still out there today who will themselves die and go to their own graves no knowing where their children are buried because Ted Bundy didn’t get a postponement of his sentence in exchange for his confession.

Further, Bundy later recanted what he’d said to Dr. Dobson. This interview is literally worth nothing except to act as torture for those whose children are still missing. This was Ted Bundy blaming everyone for everything and accepting no blame himself.

Frankly, and in plain language, Dr. Dobson was wrong to give Bundy the platform. He was flat out wrong to give him publicity. Bundy never before or after said that pornography was an issue, and flat out denied that it was a factor in interviews after the fact.

Unholy monsters like Ted Bundy deserve a bullet through the skull, and not one thing more.

Ted Bundy was executed 17 hours after this interview. Might have been last ditch effort to do something right after all he had done that was so horrific.He might have really believed what the bible said; that no matter what you do, if you come to God seeking forgiveness, he will forgive you; God knows every heart; whether you are truly sorry and changed your thinking, actions, life,and accept His will and ways and for Ted his punishment of execution. It does not matter what we think. God knows if he did it to put on a show or to just gain heaven period or if he really turned to God in true repentance. It's not for me to judge; God will be final and faithful true judge.

I forgot to mention something else. All the years he was in prison he never gave an interview. This is the only one, 17 hours before he was executed. ABC, CBS, NBC, national and worldwide media asked for an interview throughout the years, but he refused; and he gave it to Dr. Dobson.(Focus on the Family) who never asked for an interview. Dobson said Bundy did not trust the media to tell the story about how terrible illegal porn is and what it can lead to. Dobson agreed to share the interview with all media, provided they give the whole interview, because the point of the interview was the effect of this kind of porn (illegal) on people. After they agreed to only print the whole interview; they lied. They selected the sensational exerts and did not mention the reason for the interview; the effects of violent porn on people. The media never changes.
