He did not support gay marriage, did support anti-discrimination measures.

in Massachusetts

3. Supported the Brady Bill
4. Implemented an "Assault" Weapons Ban in MA AFTER the Federal Ban expired.
True, he supported the five day waiting period and the ban on assault weapons in Massachusetts.

5. Supports and believes in Man-Made Global Warming
Has admitted the possibility of global warning, but isn't in favor of wrecking the economy.

6. Supported a State-Level Cap-and-Trade system in MA. At first he did but then pushed for a cap on fees charged to businesses in Massachusetts . He now says he opposes cap'n trade.

7. Supported TARP Lately he's said Tarp made the economy worse.

8. Did not support GWB tax cuts<
He supported the second round of Bush Tax cuts.

9. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens(Pathway to Citizenship)

He does not support blanket pardons of all illegals. He's in favor of secure borders. While governor he was in favor of law enforcement detention of illegals.

10. Implemented a Socialist Healthcare Program (RomneyCare) including a $50 Abortion and an Individual Mandate.
In Massachusetts.

No, he's not perfect and he's changed positions and still holds some we don't agree with. Does that remind you of any of the other candidates?

I'm convinced that much of this virulent anti-Romney stuff is coming from the dems, who see this as a wedge. People are quick to --as Voltaire I think said-- make the best the enemy of the good.

Romney will be the nominee. Your choice is between him and Obama; not voting is a vote for Obama.

I have a suggestion for you: CHECK YOUR FACTS. Oh yes, Mitt Romney did push for gay marriage in Massachusetts and anyone who said he didn’t is out to lunch.

In fact, it was Governor Mitt Romney who was ultimately responsible for same-sex "marriages" taking place. The Supreme Judicial Court only issued an opinion and advised the Legislature to act (which it never did). Even the Court acknowledged that it had no power to change the law.

Governor Romney created these "marriages" through an unconstitutional and illegal directive to his Department of Public Health (to print new "marriage" licenses), and through his legal counsel threatened to fire any Town Clerk or Justice of the Peace who failed to implement the (non-existent) "new law". He was not required by any constitutional mandate to do these things. On the contrary, his actions clearly violated his oath to uphold the laws of Massachusetts.

. . . . . .

What happened then? The Legislature did nothing. It took no action. So after the 180 days Gov. Romney took action on his own!

1. Gov. Romney's Legal Counsel issued a directive to the Justices of the Peace that they must perform same-sex marriages when requested or "face personal liability" or be fired. (At least one Justice of the Peace, Linda Gray Kelley, was forced to resign for religious reasons.)

See Associated Press article, "Justices of the peace warned not to discriminate against same sex couples" April 25, 2004.

2. Romney's staff held training sessions for Town Clerks, warning them to "implement" the Court decision and "uphold the law" -- although the training document admits that the marriage statutes have not been changed.

3. Romney directed his Department of Public Health to change the state marriage license to read "Party A" and Party "B", replacing "Husband" and "Wife". None of this was required by any law passed by the legislature or even ordered by the court.

So if you read the article, Mitt did an end-run around the Legislature and forced the issue of Gay Marriage.

As with everything Mitt Romney says, it's what he actually does that counts, not his words.

If his lips are moving, you know he is lying.

Mitt Romney is a Liar!

Finally, you accused another poster of finding their information from a SOROS funded source. I dare you to find where MassResistance.com got any money from SOROS.

In fact, here is an article from their own site where they show that a "George Soros group attacking MassResistance over 'safe schools' czar research".

Nice false accusation. Got any other slimy, deceitful debating tricks you want to pull out of your bag?

Romney advocates homosexual couples' adoption rights be recognized by the government "There will be children born to same-sex couples, and adopted by same-sax couples, and I believe that there should be rights and privileges associated with those unions and with the children that are part of those unions." On another occasion, his spokesman "declined to state Romney's position on whether homosexual couples should be allowed to adopt, and declined to say whether the governor opposes gay adoptions."

- Boston Globe, 3/2/2006
