Almost 40 years old (is that possible?) and still the best cover for Roll Over Beethoven!

Don’t forget the Roy Orbison-like “Hold On Tight (To Your Dreams” and “Don’t Bring Me Down”.

ELO was always great and too often underestimated.

ELO did a good version and I love “Don’t Bring Me Down” but I have always prefered Mountain’s version from their “Flowers Of Evil” ablum. Leslie West just cuts loose and doesn’t let up. This is jsut a great Chuck Berry song that will stand the test of time.

It is hard to believe that they never had a number one song in the US. They had lots on the charts though.

Bumble Boogie...My favorite “classical” tune by B. Bumble and the Stingers.

Best cover of the last 10 years?

Summertime Blues..... Rush

Doesn't hurt that it includes some nice improv work by the greatest rock drummer ever.

I remember listening to the classical station when it converted to a rock station (it was sometime in the mid-70’s), and the first song they played was ELO’s “Roll Over Beethoven:

Kind of like when MTV started on the airwaves with “Video Killed the Radio Star”

Every time I see the ELO logo, I think OLEO.
