It is my understanding that they believe the Koran was written by God, and that what they possess is merely a copy of the Holy Book which is kept in Heaven. It is unchanging and perfect in their eyes. I am told this is a tenet of Muslim faith.
What sort of consternation do you suppose it would cause, if the wider Islamic world were to be made aware that there exists earlier copies of the book which do not Jive with their current version? :)

YES!!!! He’s so bad I don’t even consider him a ‘president’. He is an enemy.

YES!!!! Look to his past, his friends, his mentors, his own words. He hates America, he hates us.
3) Should the Kaaba be destroyed?
No, interesting architecture should be preserved.
4) Should Mecca be nuked?
Yes, but only during the Hajj.
5) Should Mecca and Medina be nuked?
Let’s leave Medina alone for now... the land may be useful.
6) Should Tehran be nuked?
Hmmm..... fumigated, at least.
7) Should Muslim immigration to America be restricted?
Abso-effing-lutely! How exactly can you tell a “good” muslim from the one who will kill you?
8) Should the president claim that Islam is the motivation for terrorist Islamic terrorism?
Well, I can’t speak for Barry - claiming that truth may put out a fatwah on him. However, yes, I agree with the statement.
9) Should war be declared on Islam?
No, they’re not worth it, and a war would further inflate their 4th century egos. We should all simply start speaking the truth about it, and maybe declare a war on the drivers of cars with that ‘COEXIST’ bumper sticker. At any rate, we ought to start making fun of them in a BIG way.
10) Should the draft be brought back?
Probably, and leave women out of it - battle, at least. Women as individuals can certainly serve, but in general, we are not battlefield warriors.
11) Are you opposed to taxpayer funded public schooling?
More and more, yes I am. Public schools are getting farther and farther away from sound educational principals (!), and I really resent having to pay for 12 year olds in MA getting condoms, not to mention the rest of the Lib crappola that’s brainwashing the kids.
12) Should America return to the gold standard?
As long as there are irresponsible, reprehensible assholes in charge of the money, probably. Otherwise, we were doing ok.
13) Should the Fed be abolished?
The Fed’s powers should be reviewed and revised, But that’s a perfect world we’re talking.
14) Should social security be phased out?
It already is being phased out, people just refuse to admit it. When the population was smaller and there were not so many entitlements competing for the dollars it was a nice thing. Also, older folks lived with their kids, and didn’t depend on it for so many expenses. Yes, it should be phased out.
15) Should there be anti-trust laws?
Idealy, they should work.
16) Should the production of money be privatized?
What? And outsource more jobs? No.
17) Should pornography be restricted?
Yes. Not just from kids, but from people who are offended and embarrassed by it behind the counter.
18) Should divorce and remarriage be restricted?
No; what are you? Muslim?

Yes, it should be restricted to the one who wants it has to pay for it.

Huge undertaking. Let’s start with the criminals and the ones sucking off welfare, and see how it goes. The rest should be rounded up and made to account for themselves, and if they’d be GOOD Americans, put them through the usual course of things. Otherwise, if they refuse to become Americans, throw their asses back into whatever hole they crawled out of.

American English. The Queen’s English might be difficult.
31) Does the 2nd Amendment guarantee the right to possess weapons such as grenades?
It does.

It does, but the size of the garage needed is prohibitory.

We’ve gotten used to it. It’s not a bad idea, to pay for national defense and such, but the long arm of the IRS ought to be chopped off and what our taxes pay for should be reeled waayyyyyyyyyyy in.

It's also hard to say exactly what the conservative position is in some circumstances. For example, supporting the invasion of Iraq was generally considered a conservative position, but I can imagine conservatives being opposed to it if they thought it would end up helping Muslims at the expense of Christians.
Article I, Section 8 ("Letters of Marque" clause) testifies that, yes, we are supposed to be able to have battleships. I'm not kidding.

***I don’t think it matters much what the “conservative position” is on something. What matters is how one arrives at an opinion and whether it is based upon rational reasoning. I try not to hold conservative positions just because other conservatives hold that position. For instance, lots of conservatives are pro-death penalty, some conservatives are anti-death penalty, etc. If I find myself arguing against a supposed conservative on the death penalty and look up their idealogical matrix on other issues to find that they’re basically a Rockefeller Republican RINO, I no longer have to drill down to see where they’re coming from.
I’m considering such a thing. I was hoping to build an excel spreadsheet where I could post the questions and FReepers could just go through it like the questions on this thread & post their results.
It’s a lot of work and it might just cause more trouble than maybe it’s worth.
