What about taking one herd and putting it somewhere else?

Pray tell, exactly how would you go about moving an entire HERD of elephants against their will? You do realize that a Bull Elephant weighs in excess of 2.5 TONS, don't you? And that's just one animal.

They're incredibly dangerous beasts and will kill a human without a seconds thought. And a single herd of them can devastate the crops an entire village of human beings depend on for their survival.

Imagine if you will a herd of 30 or so rabbits, each one weighing in excess of 2,000 pounds intent on stripping you of your crops and there's absolutely NO way of fencing them out.

Still think they're harmless and cute?

My late FIL was Project Engineer for an African mining company’s construction of an ore conveying system. When it was about 90% finished, a herd of rampaging elephants totally destroyed it in one night. What wasn’t destroyed had to be ripped out & rebuilt.

They will just as readily stomp a village, as they will its crops.

Another of their delightful habits is pushing over fruit trees to eat the fruit...easier than just using their trunks to pick whats in reach.

These are AFRICAN elephants; not the much more domesticatable (but no less dangerous in the wild) Indian elephants.
