Mudcats, Pickers, Pawn Stars, Swamp People, what the hell? I couldn't agree more with the senator. Have you or the senator watched those shows? They do in fact give lots of history. True they may also use a story plot in doing so. American Restoration is also good for history. If you watch Pawn Stars you usually will see several history experts on various subjects per show. Swamp People teaches a lot of history as well.

Actually I have to admit to watching a few episodes of Bering Sea Gold, which I believe is the same kind of format.
But I miss the straight history that used to make up most of The History Channel's programming.
