I admit I am on drugs for a messed up back but I was watching Fox and Friends News this morning and heard that congress had passed a bill making it a felony to protest the President or any one with Secret Service protection. Was I dreaming this or did anyone else hear this? I went to their web site after I heard it but I can't find anything. Please help me Freeper's before I lose my mind and move to some 3rd world country!!!

As I said earlier I couldn’t find anything about it on Fox or anywhere else and Fox hasn’t said a word about it since they first reported it. I think there has been enough people here saying they heard it as well that I shouldn’t have to justify what I saw on TV. You can name me anything you want but I saw and heard what I heard; and I am not the only one, thank the good Lord. If it is true we have another incremental assault on our rights.

Why bother? Just stay here for awhile longer and it will be third world. A few more coal fired power plants shut down and you will be carrying water from a stream and using a UN provided solar cell to light the one green light bulb in your house at night.
I guess that would also include Freepers?
You are so right GG2!! We’ve had people bussed into NC to protest companies trying to replace their 60 year old coal-fired plants with the latest technology. I don’t understand why except that they want us all to be carrying “buckets”!!!!

Say that you or I or any other Freeper were caught up on the “grounds” of an event “designated as an event of national significance” or the “grounds” of any building where a “person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting”.
The result is this: a federal crime with penalty of up to one year in prison — and if it happens one is exercising a right, and “carries a deadly or dangerous weapon or firearm”, then up to 10 years in prison. As you may already know, a pocketknife with a blade longer than 3” is considered a deadly weapon under various laws now in effect all over this country.
So, I think that the application of H.R. 345 could put a serious damper on Freeper activism in the future.
And from what I’ve just read since entering this thread, by eliminating the word “willfully” from this section of U.S. Code, a word that had specific meaning and application according to legal precedent, it just makes it easier to convict for the “offense”. [see article at link]

Let me try to get this back on track, while making what was intended to be my original point - in the post I now notice you were responding to.
A quick backstory. The poster you were posting to (who had yes been dismissive of your post) is who I was referring to as something of an FR legend.
He provided some deeply informative posts in the day, about the middle east. Some of the best on the site, or anywhere.

I’m a rabble-rouser, big difference. jveritas is one of the great ones. For real.
He left in an earth-shaking opus, which left many on this site stunned.
Heck even me, and we were often at odds.
Now he’s back. I’ll probably find myself at odds with him more often than not, but meanwhile that’s where I was coming from.
Though I can start posting about how things are different as an FR legend if that would help. :D
