ok, so he denies her on the ground of being a practicing Buddhist. the priest did the right thing, irregardless of the butch’s dismay. the only thing to be alarmed about was that she had the gall to parade up to ask for Communion.
I don’t think Buddhism is considered a religion.
If I recall there were many comments here on FR saying they would do this to him once he flipped. He deserved it.
Believing in reincarnation, for instance, is incomparable with the Catholic faith, or any Christian faith. It isn’t a reason TO give her Communion. Heck, many other Christians cannot even receive in the Catholic church.
They protected homosexual priests who abused altar boys, too. Didn’t make it right. I am not defending him, nor condemning him on the grounds of what is posted here. I AM sick of the watering down of my faith. There has to be a line somewhere. Not surprised the American Catholic church has taken this stand.
