Agreed. Grant was a master. Hard to believe he never received an Oscar (except for the ridiculous Lifetime Achievement BS).
He was a fascinating man who created the Cary Grant character on and off the screen and never veered from it. In his later years, he said, “I created Cary Grant, and I don’t know whether Archibald Leach became Cary Grant, or Cary Grant became Archibald Leach. But the two became one.”
And we can all thank God for that!
My old boss worked with him in Operation Petticoat and he said that Grant was the same off camera as he was on.
