John Carter of Mars

Back in the early 70’s the books of Conan and John Carter of Mars was on every youths bookshelf by the bed.

I must have had them all.

I'll be going - if not just for the memories.

Me too! My Dad read all of those Burroughs books, then gave them to me. Nothing like Burroughs and Howard! Going to check this out tomorrow, for sure. I saw an interview of the director and he sounded like a real ERB fan, and it looks like it will be faithful to the saga.

Powder..patch..ball FIRE!

I remember reading the book when I was 11. Had a crush on the princess then and hoped all turned out well after the book ended.

Will be going to see shortly.

The CGI work in the trailer is incredible. Stuff that was done only 4-5 years ago, considered state of the art back then is now old school.

I read “A Princess of Mars” in the 50s from an autographed copy passed down to me by my father. I wish I still had the book. The Barsoom series of Edgar Rice Burroughs was and still is my all time favorite sci-fi fiction. I hope Disney hasn’t beat the story up to much.

Never heard of them, and I was a youth in the 70’s.

My Grandmother got me reading all of the Edgar Rice Burroughs books in the last 60s and early 70s. I’ll definitely be going to see this one on the big screen.
