Maybe the Witness Protection Program?
Thanks for the ping. Yeah, that is a little incomplete, but it could be just a poorly put-together report. When they say “family member” it makes you wonder, did the guy call some third cousin twice removed, or did he call his mom?
Who knows, we once went out to my m-i-l’s bungalow, which had no phone, we were going to stay for the weekend but ended up there for a week. We thoughtlessly worried a lot of people.
My guess is that they received a death threat and took it serious enough that they didn’t trust the police enough to protect them.....Which then begs the question did they contact the police who are remaining mum on the issue.
OK, my favorite guess is that they in Witness Protection.
Whoops. Not anymore.
Folks don’t typically call their other family members and have the story publicized on the internet if the are in the WPP. OK, I confess everything I know about witness protection I learned from Mary McCormack on In Plain Sight.
Tim Medsker called his sister Wednesday afternoon and said he and his family were fine, but offered no explanation as to why they left their home and did not divulge their whereabouts.
“Timothy and Sabrina are very private people and it seems the media pressure made them come forward,” Schultz said early Thursday. “They said that they’re fine and that they don’t want to have any more communication.”
Medsker’s sister, Kelly Mantati, contacted authorities immediately after receiving a call from her brother Wednesday afternoon. The family gave no reason as to why the family abruptly left their home without warning, she told ClickonDetroit.com.
“He does have a different way of thinking than maybe you and I would, so maybe he feels with the economy being as bad as it is, that he needed to leave,” Mantati told the website. “I honestly, I’m not sure.”
