To: Why So Serious

As I understand it, lots of insurance companies cover the cost of Viagra. Given that, I don’t think it is so odd—or in any way an indicator of “sluttiness”—for women to want prescription birth control to be covered as well.

The rightful question is whether and how much the federal government should be mandating what health insurance coverages.

IMO Rush was crass and offensive and he significantly hurt the conservative cause, because he both took the attention for the week running up to Super Tuesday off of Obama and the economy and he about finished up the Democrats’ work to get moderate, independent and casual Democrat woman voters fired up against the GOP for November.

Between Santorum and Rush, much of the Democrats’ work was effectively done for them.

I know that I’m in the distinct minority on FR for holding such opinions, but so it goes.

I think it's odd... dare I say "perverted...," that recreational Viagra is covered. Given that, it's a odd... dare I say "perverted...," that a woman wants her recreational contraceptives covered.

ED is a disease and Viagra, Cialis, etc., are solutions, not sexual stimulants.
In fact, Cialis was just given FDA approval as a treatment for another male only disease, BPH.

Our insurance covers birth control, but NOT Viagra. I think it is the opposite of what you stated. Health insurance companies tend to cover female issues, but not male health issues. Think mammograms and PSAs (prostate exams). They've been ignoring men for a VERY long time. Some companies are just now getting on board.

OK, so men get partial subsidies on Viagra ~ and all that does is ENHANCE the female pleasure ~ so they should get 100% subsidies for themselves besides.

Really, you need to sit down and take a serious look at the options ~ for you.
