Well, to a “gentleman” the word is very rude and supremely insulting to a woman. Although Rush has said many “incendiary” things before, I believe that deep down this may have offended his own sensibilities, as he is, at the core, “Old School”.

I don’t use the word at all, and used to cringe when I heard it even on SNL’s “Point/Counterpoint” (Jane, you ignorant slut). However, the words that Maher used are EVEN WORSE and he has never apologized. It’s a profound double standard.

JMO.

hm, i use it a fair amount because i find it an accurate descriptor for a fair number of people, male and female.

I agree with you 100%. I don’t use those words because I think they’re very offensive.
