In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “Word for the Day”.

Anomie

Noun

    1. Social instability caused by erosion of standards and values.
    2. Alienation and purposelessness experienced by a person or a class as a result of a lack of standards, values, or ideals: "We must now brace ourselves for disquisitions on peer pressure, adolescent anomie and rage" (Charles Krauthammer).

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I don’t do FB or any of that, nor does my daughter-worse than a paper trail.

We had a couple cracks of thundersnow last week while I was taking out the trash. That’s a rare thing.

Snowed in June in Spokane when I was there as a kid once. Where I am now in south-central Washington late March is about the latest snow we would get. But 61F is forecast tomorrow :).

Thunder in winter is not an everyday occurance here, but it isn’t rare-we had a couple of thunderstorms last week.

Once when MrT5 was TDY in Utah, it snowed on the mountains in July.

Convenience store chains. Sheetz is in west PA. Wawa in the east.

Big places. Lots of pumps. Sandwiches made to order. Coffee bar. Both Coke and Pepsi products for sale.

Yeah, I’ve only seen it once or twice. It’s like being suddenly blinded if you’re driving cause the lightning makes each piece of falling snow light up.

Hey, I will care if you can find a diet triple caffeine drink when I can find a big red in Pennsylvania. ;^)

Tex, SD is right - I won’t say they are larger stores than some we have, but WaWa has an amazing deli with great sandwiches. But, as I said, they don’t have Big Red so how great can they really be? ;^)

No Big Red? I’ve never been fond of soda, but I used to drink Big Red once in awhile-that and Mountain Dew were the only sodas I ever liked when I was a kid-never did like cola.

I know Spring is almost here because the Mountain Laurels are blooming in overdrive-the huge ones by my deck are covered with flowers and on my hike in the woods this morning, the smell of grape koolaid was wafting over everything...

I’m usually doing projects on weekends and too tired of staring at a screen when I get home. But I need to get on FR and vent and rant and be a nuisance. Gotta go. Take care.
