My 7th grade English teacher would have had a field day with the title sentence!

IMHO, English teachers have a "perfection" problem. My english teacher in COLLEGE was from Germany and was a young woman during WWII. An American soldier wrote her a letter. She promptly wrote back including his "corrected" letter. She said he never wrote again.
She did eventually marry an American soldierm ten years her senior, and come to our country. Very interesting woman.

Ornate? Maybe by Spartan standards!

Looks like someone took a ‘thump’ to the head.
Bet if they looked hard, they’d probably find the head too.

It’s mine. I’m still a mistery. When do I get it back?
To: C19fan
Definitely not the helmet of an ordinary warrior

How is THAT “incredibly” ornate?
How does that fit the description in the article?

“One theory is that it belonged to a warrior stationed on one of the warships of the Greek fleet that fought the Persians, who ruled the country at the time.’
Sherlock Holmes-like deduction.
To: GeronL
Take a closer look. In addition to the gold plating, it is very ornately engraved.

It has been under water for a long time. I would guess someone dropping an anchor might have dented it.
