When I was a child, my grandmother made me a quilt with the alphabet and each letter was made from a different flower. I wore that thing to a frazzle. Wish I knew how to quilt! (I am a talentless one!)
Same here, teenie, and to think my mother was the best seamstress in the world. Sewing has always made me a bit nervous. Occasionally, I open my sewing machine to sew a seam or hem some knit slacks but I don't do a great job. I keep a piece of material handy and try the stitching out on the scrap before I decide what to use on the hem. What I hate most of all is threading the machine and putting thread on the bobbin to match!
Dress slacks have to be hand hemmed to suit me. I'm looking for someone now to hem some new slacks I just purchased. I haven't found anyone yet and need the slacks because I've lost some weight. My doctor thinks its the pain pills that are making me lose weight. But pain alone can tear the whole body up, I think. The last couple of days I've been a little hungrier and have eaten better!
