Heritage Foundation and Paul Ryan fully support this proposal.
The United States is beyond bankrupt.
40 years of the military industrial complex leeching the taxpayer dry has resulted in our sad state of affairs. The hundreds or thousands of freepers who can not see the difference between earmarked pork, budgetary fiefdoms on one hand, and the well being and contractual obligations to our troops and veterans on the other hand, have been cheerleading for this outcome since the early days of FR.
It doesn’t matter if Obama is reelected or a GOP man takes his place, the military budget will be cut by 40%, either through pure cuts, attrition, or Fed induced high inflation.
When there is nothing left in the DoD budget, they will start with the social safety net budget.
THe budget cuts or inflationary policy escape plan for the Federal government and those who really control the Federal government precludes the military personnel of this country from maintaining a “American middle class” lifestyle, ...
to add insult to injury, as a starting negotiating position Obama will demand better medical care for uninsured illegal aliens than active duty military member’s family...
Could you please provide the source for that assertion. Thanks.
BS. Social programs cost more than the military. Cut those out and we’d be fine.
“Heritage Foundation and Paul Ryan fully support this proposal.”
Say WHAT? This sounds pretty unlikely to me, IMHO and congress would need to pass this, right? IMHO also, the greatest leaches on our society are the lazy folks who jump on Social Security Disability, welfare folks, etc. The Great Society of LBJ - “I will take from the haves and give to the have nots” was the original “let’s screw the middle class” mentality.
THAT has to quit. Take a look at the Soc. Security offices - do you see Q Tip folks (white hair / white shoes). NO, you see all young folks sucking our money.
Also, Ozippy has given us thousands and thousands of additional Government Employees. THAT also is a problem. This country needs LESS government, LESS government employees, etc. all the way down the line.
Our Service Men/Women both active and retired deserve the BEST this country has to offer. NOT illegal leaches, NOT lazy welfare folks or SSDI.
One note: Ever see Stevie Wonder? Gee, golly - he’s disabled. Bet he can’t do anything with HIS life? Ray Charles? Give me a break here.
Rant off.
I think cuts should start at the bloated DOD civilian workforce. Years ago while I was stationed at Hill AFB, UT, and later at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, the military there were a minority. My civilian counterpart earned more money than I did, he was in a strictly 8 to 4:30 job, and he never had to worry about deployment. You definitely did not want to be in the building foyer or the parking lot when 4:30 PM rolled around or you would get run over for sure.
