Santorum was effectively returning a favor by endorsing Specter despite his aggressive pro-abortion-rights views. Specter had supported Santorum’s 1994 Senate campaign.

Uh huh; exactly. And, this is the same reason why my girl Sarah endorsed John McCain in his last Senate reelection campaign. It’s called feeling a sense of obligation to return the favor to people who helped put you where you are today. Sarah did it for John McLame and Rick did it for Specter. Now, can we put all this crap behind us. I despised RS for years for endorsing Specter. I was more “understanding” to Sarah for endorsing McLame.
Comparing vice Presidential candidate Palin supporting Presidential candidate McCain in his sure thing reelection for his seat following their Presidential run, has nothing to do with Senator Santorum’s support in endorsements and campaigning.
The 2008 ticket turning on itself would have wiped us out in 2010.
