A day before a campaign rally in Georgia, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum won a suburban Atlanta straw poll with 40-percent of the vote. The straw poll was conducted Saturday, Feb. 18 by the Coweta County GOP.

If you’re talking about this weekend, Santorum wasn’t even talking about Obama’s Christianity; only that Obama is suppressing religious liberties w/ his secular “theology”.
I have to agree.
I keep checking RCP and various sites for the latest info. I’m shocked there isn’t more polling going on.
According to PPP’s twitter feed, latest Michigan poll will be released tonight at sometime between 10-11. It is projected to be much closer than the 15 points it showed about a week ago when PPP was the only firm showing Santorum with that kind of lead there. Most other polls have it a 5-6 point race, which is what I expect.
AZ comes out tomorrow. From what they said, looks like Mitt may be a point or so ahead. This could be very close.
Washington comes out on Tuesday where Santorum has a double digit lead according to previous info.
I hope more poll information comes out, especially for GA. I suspect that if Newt is ahead, it’s by no more than 2-3 points.
Bingo on all counts!
Santo/Rubio works for me, too.
Seriously, we're all smarter than buying into that MSM talking point. And as for winning the general, in my humble opinion, Santorum has a MUCH greater chance than Romney or Gingrich.
I don’t put much credence in this small, local straw poll. (Another Georgia straw poll within the last few days had Ron Paul winning.)
There hasn’t been a poll out of Georgia in the last few days. The next Georgia poll will be a much better indicator than this straw poll.
The latest polls indicate that Newt is leading in Georgia, but that Rick is gaining. Will Rick catch him?
If either Newt or Rick wins Georgia, it will help to stymie Romney’s efforts to win the nomination. On Super Tuesday, Romney will probably win Massachusetts, Vermont, and Virginia. If he is limited to those three, that will be a blow to his campaign. (Ohio, North Dakota, and Tennessee will be big.)
I’m guessing PPP will have Rick up by the RCP average.
All in all (Washington, Arizona, Georgia, Ohio, Oklahoma etc..) it’s looking quite promising for the grassroots.
Did you see this from my Okie friends?
SoonerPoll Oklahoma 2012 GOP Primary Survey
Rick Santorum 39% (2%)
Mitt Romney 23% (14%)
Newt Gingrich 18% (33%)
Ron Paul 8% (4%)
Undecided 13% (24%)
Rickaboooooooooooooom!
My understanding is that a two-term US senator has to really work at getting blown out of his third election, i.e. it isn’t basically easy to do.
That’s why I said if. The same thing applies to Mitt in Michigan. Both of them will need to win those states to beat Santorum, who has replaced Newt as the OBM candidate.
They are the latest ones but never the less NEWT WILL WIN GEORGIA.
BTW, saw your guy in GA yesterday introducing Newt and telling the crowd why NEWT IS THE ONLY ONE!
I bet turnout is down in Va. Primary voting with only Romney and Ron Paul on the ballot. That is unless a lot of ticked off people vote for Ron Paul to send the establishment a message.
OMG! OMG! OMG! WOW! WOW! OMG! OMG! OMG!
It’s over, it’s all over.... 100 people have spoken and now IT’S ALL OVER.... OMG!
You Santorum folks are as phony as a $3 bill. I am starting to think that I need to quit saying that Paul is the nut.... that crown seems to have been stolen from him.
LMAO...
Coweta County GOP Straw Poll Results:
Santorum 40
Gingrich 27
Paul 6
Romney 5
Palin 1
Jeb Bush 1
Other 5
Und. 3
100 Votes Cast.... LMAO @ you folks. I’ve seen more people than that at a local car wash.
“I wish I could say that I believed Santorum could win a national election.....”
Santorum can’t win on his own; none of our candidates can. But never underestimate the power of prayer. Basically, it’s all we’ve got. I truly believe that Obama, Pelosi, M. Waters, MSM, etc., are controlled by Satan. (Hear the things they say, the lies they tell, the cadence of their voices that makes a decent person’s skin crawl, how they make good sound bad and vice versa; watch the things they do.) Only God’s power can defeat Satan.
But will soon BOTH be friends of Ricks.
