A remote-controlled aircraft owned by an animal rights group was reportedly shot down near Broxton Bridge Plantation Sunday near Ehrhardt, S.C.
Steve Hindi, president of SHARK (SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness), said his group was preparing to launch its Mikrokopter drone to video what he called a live pigeon shoot on Sunday when law enforcement officers and an attorney claiming to represent the privately-owned plantation near Ehrhardt tried to stop the aircraft from flying.
"It didn't work; what SHARK was doing was perfectly legal," Hindi said in a news release. "Once they knew nothing was going to stop us, the shooting stopped and the cars lined up to leave."
He said the animal rights group decided to send the drone up anyway.
"Seconds after it hit the air, numerous shots rang out," Hindi said in the release. "As an act of revenge for us shutting down the pigeon slaughter, they had shot down our copter."

No self-respecting hunter would serve beer battered drones with wine......
I shot sporting clays at Broxton Bridge plantation once. Nice place in the country south of the nice town of Earhardt, SC. Last place on earth I thought would be targeted by the PETA pod people.
These gay urban liberal treehugging gungrabbing (that’s their REAL objective) Bambi worshippers think they can invade the countryside and menace the “bitter clingers” now by using high technology. No shouting to scare the deer this time.
So when their fancy new toy gets trashed by some oldfashioned weaponry, they get their tighties in a wad and call for backup. Watch for the ACLU to come storming in. Only when they show up at the courthouse they had better place some guards around their SUVs if you get my drift.
“Shot happens” ping
Oh, darn.
I was gonna start calling the drone idiots the “Mob Squab”.
That’s the issue. It wasn’t above the property in question. It was airborne adjacent to said property. You might make a case that you can protect the airspace above your property, but no case to be made at all for shooting anything in the outside the boundaries but viewable from that property.
Looks like it was crashed on purpose to blame the shooters. You can’t convince me from the video that it was actually shot down.
“What a hyperventilating pansy. Perfectly legal to shoot your little toy down..”
Is it? I don’t know. You wouldn’t like it if someone shot down your helicopter.
I don’t care for their liberalism but I’m against destroying someone else’s private property just for the heck of it.
Here is a high def video.

I see no buckshot damage.
Since I would not be using it to harass people on their private property, you are probably right..I wouldn’t like it.
Alright! Which one of Ya’Al shot before calling “PULL!”
Well, then, go ahead and fly your spy-camera equipped private property over someone else’s lawfully owned private property and announce that your purpose in so doing will be to spy on them for reasons hostile to them, and they might be expected to respond.
At that point, ideology hardly matters.
So some PETA person’s little toy was brought down. Who cares?
;^)
At least, that's the way I would play it to a Carolina court jury.
I think these Shark boys ought to come over here to Texas during deer season to protect them!!! :)
