Moogie crawled—couldn't walk—up a construction ramp to our front door 16 years ago, at 4 months old, and basically collapsed from near starvation.
The demon cat, was an 8 or 9 week old Spring kitten that claimed us as hers 6 years ago. She climbed on our legs; then when that didn't work, went up a fence post & jumped onto my shoulders, and would not be denied. We were visiting neighbors who were moving out, and she was part of a litter from a mooching feral cat, and knew she wanted regular meals & a warm bed at night.
Pixel, at 4-6 months old, followed the late Mister Fang Feral home from who knows where; we checked with neighbors, and she wasn't any of theirs. That was Fall of the same year that Demoness moved in; and that Summer is also when Fang—a misnomer of ever there was one—showed up. He & Pixel were nearly inseparable.
Fang died of a fast growing brain tumor a little over a year ago.
My sucker sign is tattooed across my forehead. Aren’t stray animals supposed to run away from strangers? They bark, yowl, scratch at the door, etc. to get into our house. They don’t even know if they’d like it in here. My husband thinks that the indoor pets rat us out to the outdoor critters. There’s no other explanation.
