I don’t mind that they didn’t bring up something like that at the funeral-it wouldn’t have been kind, after all. But why go way off in the other direction, howling and hand wringing as if she had been some saintly woman killed on her way to hand out food to starving orphans? Anyone who has ever looked at the cover of a tabloid at the grocery store knew she had substance abuse problems for years. Like yourself, I’ve dealt with enough addicts in my job over the years to be cynical-I don’t mean any cruelty by it.
That said, I heard on the news last night that some of her doctors and such are already getting lawyered up for the coming investigation and civil suits-from the number of them she visited in just the couple of weeks before she died, it does appear that she was doctor-shopping for drug ‘scrips. ...
OK, so the funeral may not be the place, but stories of the worn Bible made me gag. She had her share of demons, ie drugs.
I went to a funeral for a suicide. Thank, God I just missed the call by minutes. He stood in front of a train, presumably while high on drugs. I would have really freaked had I seen him like that. Heartbreaking.
