Excellent point and you caught that. Good catch.

The vet told us there has to be a part of a dane in there. The puzzle is then how did it retain the solid black color. Most unusual lab she has ever seen at that weight.

4th quarter coming up.

Actually, I had two Great Danes. One was 125 lb. and the other was 150 lb. There are some big Labs here in the country, but your guy sounds like a giant! Does he have an especially deep chest and narrow waist, or is he shaped more like a Lab?

Color/markings are often completely separate genes, not “blended”.

Either way, Great Danes can be black.
