I barely use the dryer during the summer and even hang clothes on the line during much of the winter. I personally think the loss of the clothesline is a loss for society.

My great grandmother had her clothesline deliberately put in next to the fence with her neighbor. Hanging laundry was a social event for her.

Hanging clothes outside is horrible for allergy sufferers. Just attracks lots of pollen.

They recommend you open up the back or front of the dryer (I mean unscrew them) and check for accumulated lint and clean out.

I used to do this every 6 months in my old dryer that finally died. I will never leave a dryer running while sleeping or away. I got a new dryer 4 years ago and it died at 7 months.

I have been hanging up all my clothes since.
