I'd also rate the LEO's story a solid "10+" on the "BS scale" but I wouldn't exclude "BS" from more than one source (plaintiff's counsel?). I can count the number of times I've gotten my daughter up at 4AM to "walk the track and read the Bible" or even "go for a morning jog on the beach" on .... well, on
no hands. I have never done that. Maybe the left coast rises particularly early to do things, and my understanding of California culture is minuscule-to-none, so of course I could be mistaken.
Getting my kid up at 4AM EST would be a project rivaling moving Mt. Everest to the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan. In one piece. It would never happen. Something is very, very strange about this incident.

Our kids wake themselves between 0430 and 0500 so they can be done with their schoolwork by breakfast. When living in So Cal, it was a beautiful time for us to go to the ocean - it is the only thing they miss about California.

Read the story at the link:
"A former commanding officer said Marine Sgt. Manuel Loggins Jr. routinely went to San Clemente High School during the early morning with his daughters to walk the track and read the Bible."

“Something is very, very strange about this incident.”
Yeah, because right now it looks like the cops saw a black guy and shot him down.
Sorry, but the story they give makes LESS sense than that.
I mean, they had how many cops there and they did not attempt to subdue the guy they just SHOT him and not just shot him, but killed him?
WTF is the only reaction I have to this.
