Aside from the idiotic racist comment and the double standard, why was Gronkowski’s behavior news in the first place? The season was over, he’s not even going back to training camp for months, why shouldn’t he be allowed to unwind as he sees fit?

Because they lost? It was a close game, he played through a lot of pain, and they had a great season. He shouldn’t need to act all depressed just because they came up short to a team that played a very good game.

He likely did take some pain killers after the game and that and some brewskies, I’d be whooping it up too..

It’s the new age media that shows the videos and seek out stories to fill bandwidth. His agent should have kept an eye out for him.. but he was probably pe-eyed too. ;-)

Just getting to the SB is quite a feat, he’ll likely make it back as long as Tom is slinging the ball. Heck, let ‘em party.

"...why shouldn’t he be allowed to unwind as he sees fit?"

Because Pats fans are still beating their children, kicking their dogs and divorcing their wives in record numbers this week after that unthinkable loss and now the video they see slaps them in the face with the brutal truth that the game meant much more to their sorry lives than it means to a bunch of millionaire boy athletes who are paid to provide a meaning and purpose for said Pats fan's very existence.

That, coupled with the Sawx historic collapse at the end of last season and the subsequent locker room fallout, it's not fun for chowdah heads these days. Trust me, I work with one. He's STILL not over the Red Sox losing last year. Got tired with trying to talk him off the ledge after "his" teams' losses. Next time, he can go ahead and jump. His wife is even getting pretty sick and tired of her 40 year old man-child.
