In most cases, the snake will shed the ticks when it sheds its skin.

That said, this is probably the worst infestation of ticks I've ever seen on a snake. They seem to be blocking its vision and perhaps its mouth too.

I love snakes. I hope it survives long enough to shed its skin.

Same here. Snakes get a bad rap.

I love snakes also but ticks are easy to remove. Years back one of my neighbors sons had an iguana and it had 3 ticks on it...She was grossed out just by the iguana, so she called me down to take the ticks off....I used tweezers but covering it with vaseline I think caused the tick to back out. also a match blown out immediately and put on the tick causes it to back out also...her kids were thrilled I got them off, but she was still grossed out when I got the iguana back in its cage....Raised 4 son's was use to such things, red belly snake in the garage, buckets of tadpoles also...you get use to it...
