"Come, friends, who plough the sea,
Truce to navigation, take another station,
Let's vary piracy
With a little burglary!"
LoL. I’m not THAT familiar with The Pirates of Penzance.
My son, a “Little Genius” type with a near-editic memory ,saw a production of The HMS Pinafore and has been singing the lyrics — ALL OF THEM — ever since in the car. (You should hear him sing the female parts — hilarious!).
His favorite:
For in spite of all temptations
To belong to other nations,
He remains an Englishman!
He remains an Englishman!
At the moment, he’s now singing Haywire Mac’s songs about bums — Big Rock Candy Mountain in particular. I’ve told him NOT to sing the dirty lines!
One evening as the sun went down and the jungle fire was burning
Down the track came a hobo hiking and he said boys I’m not turning
I’m headin for a land that’s far away beside the crystal fountains
So come with me we’ll go and see the Big Rock Candy Mountains
