Hey. I’m as skeptical of ALL polls as anyone. But having said that, we can’t really have it both ways. On the one hand we say that Obama is gonna slaughter Romney while on the other we say that a poll showing just that is obviously wrong.

While, like I said, I am skeptical (plus it is very early), this and other polls seem to be bearing out what we have been saying to the GOP Elite ... Romney is gonna get it handed to him by Obama. Maybe this poll isn’t that far off and maybe, just maybe, we know what we are talking about.

Only 1000 people were sampled?

Given an adequately random sample, 1000 is a perfectly valid sample size even for the national electorate, and actually accuracy really doesn't increase if the sample size gets much larger than 2000.

Have you taken, say, an introductory statistics course?

Credible scientific polls have difficulty being correct when people are rapidly changing their minds, but otherwise, despite the abuse they take here from people who would rather believe their own wishful thinking, the general lesson is they are remarkably accurate.

Other than completely worthless straw polls and online polls, the only actual "rigged" poll I've seen that was supposedly legitimate enough to make the RCP listing was the Insider Advantage poll for Newsmax that purported to show Florida "breaking hard" for Newt.

Carter beat the crap out of Reagan, too.

That is, right up until the time people actually got to vote.

Ummm...all the same polls, for the last month, have shown Obama crushing Newt (+11) much worse than Romney loses by (+4).

If we get a Romney/anybody else - we get Obama again... just another GOP-E RINO ticket that conservative voters won’t vote for.

Romney is a Democrat and always has been.

Newt has ALWAYS been conservative. Why would you say otherwise.

thats the problem right now.

The establishment who enjoy their elitist cocktail parties with the cross dressers and homosexuals do not want to piss their party pals off so they from the north east and the DC area say social issues are not important when they are.

If they actually met the people of the south, the midwest and AK they would know this but instead they would rather pander to a few homosexuals etc and then think they might get votes.

Moderates as they say are wanting marriage etc as a marriage, between one man and one woman and 31 states have said this but for some reason their elitist bubbles ignore this and they put out yet another RINO

agreed I am sick to death of explaining this along wiht their ratings.

The establishments worse night mare is Newt, they cannot control him, they cannot stop him if he got the power and the establishment would rather lose the election than back him but then they get their talking heads out there stating that we will all unite

er no we won’t regardless of who is the VP now, we have been pissed on for years and even back for Reagan they fought him but he sold what our platform was instead of appeasement like the establishment today

The establishment say get Romney and the moderates will vote for him but they ignore social issues and say it is not important and yet the homosexual agenda is what the majority do not want and yet still we have dumb RINO’s saying they have no problem with it

1. 4 states in a row lost.
2. Not even any counties won in those 4 states.
3. Last in NV.
4. Has not won one voting bloc, not even Catholics.
5. Uses little money he has to make AD’s attacking Newt, and
6. He hasn’t even been attacked by anyone.
7. Newt is second.
8. Had the establishment,Drudge, FOX, etc all after him In second place.
9. Won the conservative voting bloc.
10. Won other voting blocs.
11. Won nearly all SC.
12. Won more counties than Romney in FL.
13. Should by the rules have delegates from here (FL).
14. Why would anyone say to you that the second place guy should drop out and let the last guy in is beyond me.
15. Also we will see at the end of this who Santorum endorses and
16. If he goes for Romney then we will know for sure then how some were fooled even after it has been pointed out time after time what is happening and how the vote is being split.

and that new poll saying that 50% of Americans approve of Obama? Really? so half of America isn’t complaining over 3.60 a gallon gas and much higher food prices as their home values continue to decline?

I’m beginning to believe that they are not polling anyone. If they do, they throw out the results and sit around in a group and make up numbers to justify the Food Stamp President. Everything is spin for the Food Stamp President, but that is to be expected when he is your boss.

and when are we gonna start seeing Romney/VP Polls? they never bring up what the outcome would be if its a Romney/Rubio/McDonnel/Ryan ticket. Any of those would benefit Romney. I mentioned this before, but u have to keep in mind,if its McDonnell, Obama can say goodbye to Virginia/N.Carolina and the entire rust belt!!

Agreed. Newt hasn’t changed. Someone posted some articles from 1990 and 92 and they all called him an outsider etc.

You are right. The only other major variable is the formulation of the question. Skilful operatives can frame a question to elicit whatever result they desire.

Newt just says he is a Conservaive. He has done the following off the top of my head:

1. last week threw austerity under the bus.

2. Called Ryan’s budget plan “right wing Social Engineering”

3. Pushed Conservatives to vote for Medicaid under Bush.

4. Pelosi couch love-fest on Climate Change

5. In his book he calls for Individual Mandate

6. An energy industrial policy some have called “Solyndra on steroids.

7. Headlined events with John Kerry on Global Warming

8. Appearing around the Nation with Al Sharpton pushing Obama education policies.

These are just the ones off the top of my head. Newt saying he is a Conservative sure doesn’t make him one. Just the support for the individual mandate, alone, disqualifies him.
