Sometime late last night or early this morning Eastern time, the final results in Nevada were released:
Romney........16,486......51.1% Gingrich......6,959.......21.1% Paul..........6,175.......18.8% Santorum......3,277.......10.0%
Romney came in with a 1% lower percentage of the vote than in 2008, but more significantly, both Romneys actual number of votes and Republican participation in the caucuses was way down from 2008.
Over 44,000 votes were cast in 2008 to just under 33,000 in 2012. Romney received 22,646 votes in 2008 versus 16,486 in 2012.
Spin away.

Update: In addition to the ominous signs of flat or lower turnout in every state except South Carolina, comes this ABC/WaPo poll released this morning, finding Romney strengthening his position in the GOP race but falling further behind Obama:
Notably, 52 percent in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates, say the more they hear about Romney the less they like him double the number who like him more.

33 thousand votes. And that’s “a state?” Gimme a break. That’s a friggin rounding error for South Carolina - where 20 times that many people voted.
This is how the media spin gets you. Teeny tiny vote counts in Iowa and Nevada are spun as “a state” just like South Carolina and Florida when in truth, these little weird caucus states should mean nothing .

Yep.
Romney’s win here means nothing. This state is mormon heavy and they voted 98% for him.
In CA there are more than 33K voters in my county.

"This state is mormon heavy and they voted 98% for him."
Exactly!
Mormons will pay any price for the opportunity to gain power, selling this country down the drain is no stretch for them.
This is one of the reasons we have Reid still in the Senate.

Yes, because Willard wins when conservative voters are divided, dispirited, and demoralized.
Go Mitt! And by go I mean go straight to hell.

Thanks for posting the facts:
” - - - Over 44,000 votes were cast in 2008 to just under 33,000 in 2012. Romney received 22,646 votes in 2008 versus 16,486 in 2012.”
My “spin” is that most of the voter age population in Nevada belongs to the DISGUST Party, our Nation’s largest Political Party, and their numbers have increased since Moderate Mittens replaced Brain-Dead McCain.
If my “spin” is correct, The Obamanator will win Nevada in a landslide come November, and “surprise” the MSM, GOP, and even Moderate Mittens himself.
BTW, are you reading this Newt? Forget about the “Moderate” vote as they are just 20 % of the RINO voters, and they will ALWAYS vote for the GOP Establishment’s anointed Moderate. GOP = Moderate losers. Newt, get that equation though your thick skull! Moderates are not the problem, they are symptoms of the problem. They will not vote for you, EVER! “Move On!”
Go instead for the 50 % of the entire NATION that is disgusted with the US Federal Government. Stop playing by the “moderates” rules! Quit hitting the “tarbaby” topics thrown at you by the MSM, GOP, and Willy-Boy, and show us HOW you plan to lead us out of THE VALLEY OF DEBT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW Newt, just pretend that this is your last chance to run for President of the United States of America, the land of your children and grandchildren - - - . Do I have your attention now?
